https://en.ara.cat/opinion/flags_129_5653796.html

The Spanish flag in Madrid's Plaza de Colón is not withstanding the elements. Oh dear. The year hasn't even started two months ago and it's already been torn three times. The latest incident occurred this week, in an image that must be added to the collection of anecdotes about Spanish flags taking damage. There are quite a few. Even involving paratroopers and lampposts. The repertoire is extensive. It can't be said that Spain skimps on resources in this regard. On the contrary. The flag in Madrid's Plaza de Colón is also worth a lot of money. It's enormous, 294 square meters, and weighs 35 kilos, which is overweight for a flag. But when you have an attack ofexhibitionism Patriotism is far better than a flag stuck on a stick. Furthermore, the Spanish state needs to assert itself, not because it is recognized as a state, but simply to be recognized. But speaking of recognition, exhibitionism flag It's not exclusive to Madrid or Spain. Many nations practice it. And even unrecognized nations, which might make a bit more sense if one weren't allergic to flags, as is the case with those who call themselves "citizens of the world." Now, when there's a battle between gusts of wind like the ones we've been experiencing lately, flags lose in the first round. And because they're so symbolic, they immediately project the image of a broken country. This time, we Catalans have nothing to do with it. What a shame. The loss of prominence we've suffered in such a short time is comparable to a flag torn by the wind. However, we may be partly to blame. It's ironic that the new storm is called PeterThat would never have occurred to me. But speaking of symbolism, Pedro breaks up Spain. And speaking of jokes, this one's bad, I know.

It is not the cult of the dead, but the cult of the children yet to come." I have always been impressed by Rafael Campalans's unadorned foresight. A resplendent lucidity like that which lies in this reflection, highly pertinent on the eve of our national holiday and the beginning of the commemorative tradition of raising the Senyera (Spanish flag) in Ciutadella Park on the eve of September 11.

For example, the Constitution, which says that all Spaniards have the right to decent housing. For example. In the case of my fifty best friends and I, and always thinking of the beloved dear ones of Vox, the Constitution allows burning the Constitution. Donald Trump has threatened anyone who burns the American flag with a year in prison. It was a flag that had traditionally been allowed to burn, to the point that some copies are now sold as fireproof.

They all have one common denominator: greater solemnity and with the country's flag taking center stage. On the eve of September 11th, the kick-off of the celebration, there will be a solemn raising of the flag. the giant flag installed in front of the Parliament, in an event that recovers "the spirit of Maragall," according to sources from the panel. The enormous flagpole, installed by the chamber's panel and already a reality this Tuesday—at a cost of 93,000 euros—will be unveiled for the occasion. It measures a total of 25 meters in height, while the flag itself will measure six meters by nine, a total of 54 square meters. The flagpole is the tallest in all of Catalonia for a flag that will be displayed year-round, according to the sources consulted. However, it is much smaller than the Spanish flag in Madrid's Plaza Colón, which has a 50-meter pole and a fabric surface area of 294 square meters.
