Abyss is the title of Blaumut's sixth album, an album that they've delivered to their fans in two installments: five songs in the spring and another five in the fall, followed by the album's release. "It's important that people have time to digest the songs. In the times we live in, where everything happens so fast and at such a crazy pace, you have to stop and breathe," says Xavi de la Iglesia, singer and composer of this group that combines folk-pop, classical music, and singer-songwriter music. They are currently on tour and have performed in cities such as Valencia, Bilbao, and Madrid, outside the Principality, and have sold out in many cases. "Seeing so many people singing in Catalan in Madrid, people who weren't Catalan, is fantastic, it gives you a brutal energy and makes your hair stand on end. After the concert, they came to talk to us, you could see that they had prepared the good night and little else in Catalan, and you saw that they were from Madrid or the surrounding areas," explains De la Iglesia.

If we have learned anything over the years, it is that most festivals limit themselves to programming concerts based on the followers, listeners, trends and exposure on the networks of the artists on the billboard, limiting the variety of discourses and artistic proposals to a very biased range; but with 18 years of MUD, we can say that getting out of this spiral is not only possible, but it is a process of awareness of cultural and musical expression from its essence, guaranteeing the coexistence of different approaches to broaden sound spectrums and deepen the dissemination of new references in the current panorama.
