Facilitating access to housing for thousands of families who were unable to access it through the free market. This is the mission of Fem Ciutat, which, over the course of its 35 years of existence, has completed the construction of more than 4,200 homes throughout Catalonia, making the cooperative one of the largest non-public developers of protected housing in any form (purchase, building rights, rental, etc.). The comprehensive advisory team at Solucions is responsible for carrying out the necessary tasks to achieve the cooperative's corporate purpose.

The SIS Project (Inclusive and Social Supermarket and Cafeteria) is a pioneering initiative born in 2021 as a result of the inter-cooperation between various worker cooperatives and other organizations in the social and solidarity economy, led by Entrem Grup Cooperatiu d'Inserció Laboral. The initial objective was to develop an innovative and transformative supermarket model that would create jobs for vulnerable groups with a value proposition that integrated inclusion, community development, and economic viability through cooperative principles. The idea ultimately materialized into two interconnected spaces: the SIS supermarket, managed under a social franchise model with Caprabo—the alliance with which it contributes knowledge of the sector, minimizing risks—and the Espai SIS Cafeteria, a comfortable space with a restaurant service and designed to promote cultural activities.

In 2005, a group of professionals from the socio-educational field created ACTUA, a non-profit social initiative cooperative that develops and manages projects that promote inclusion, coexistence, and the prevention of situations of vulnerability, especially among children and young people. The cooperative promotes initiatives rooted in the region, based on collaboration, self-management, and commitment to people. As the president of the governing board, Berta Pinyol, states, "We are committed to generating real opportunities to transform society through educational action and the empowerment of individuals, teams, and projects, based on proximity, inclusion, and a community perspective."

Suara is a non-profit worker cooperative, a leader in the personal care sector. In 2024, the cooperative served nearly 150,000 people through a professional team of 5,861 employees, 1,797 of whom are members.

Located in the old Can Batlló warehouse, renovated and donated by Barcelona City Council to the Bloc4 Association and which today still retains its former industrial appearance.² which aims to contribute to the development and socioeconomic transformation of the city of Barcelona and the entire Catalan territory through raising awareness and promoting cooperativism, the incubation and acceleration of cooperatives, the promotion of intercooperation, local and international connections, and alliances with other cultural, educational, and business stakeholders.

A few weeks ago, Som Energia, Som Connexió, and Som Mobilitat formalized the intercooperation agreement that facilitates joint access for companies to essential services such as energy, telecommunications, and mobility based on ethical and sustainable criteria. This collaboration, the result of a shared journey since 2023, now has 10,600 user companies, 450 of which have contracted two or more services.

Idaria is a non-profit worker and job placement cooperative that offers various services related to the green and circular economy, with the aim of promoting the labor inclusion of people experiencing social exclusion and thus contributing to improving the socioeconomic conditions of the area where it operates.

From configuring air quality sensors to be carried on bicycles to analyzing the sustainability of a collective project, to the deployment of a new digital office in the cloud. All of these activities are what femProcomuns makes available to public administrations and the solidarity economy, as well as to its user members, currently numbering around 200, approximately half of which are entities and the other half individuals. The three areas of activity of the cooperative, created in 2017, are guided by the principles of open cooperativism, community self-management, ecological, economic, and human sustainability, shared knowledge, and replicability. "The purpose was to create a strategic social tool that would contribute to consolidating an ecosystem based on the socioeconomic model of the commons," its promoters point out.

The School of Sustainable Mobility enables anyone to become an agent of change within the framework of one of the current global challenges facing our society: achieving sustainable mobility. It does so through flexible online training, which allows students to choose between modules, courses, postgraduate and master's degrees, as well as the analysis and development of real-life cases and projects, and field visits to experience firsthand all the topics covered in the courses.

The United Nations has declared 2025 the International Year of Cooperatives. The date coincides with another anniversary, the 125th anniversary of organized cooperativism.

Agricultural cooperatives are companies that, under cooperative principles, bring together farmers and ranchers, who are both members and owners. In Catalonia, between 32,000 and 33,000 people support a sector with an increasingly significant impact on the country's productive fabric. Not surprisingly, 37% of Catalan agricultural production comes from cooperatives, with such representative products as olive oil (76% of the total), almonds (72%), hazelnuts (67%), carob (63%), wine (53%), seeded fruit (24.44%) and herbaceous crops (excluding fodder) (39%), citrus fruits, and milk (36%).

The planting and harvesting of rice are moments of effort but also of celebration, when the rice harvest season begins and ends for the rice cooperatives of the Ebro Delta. For years, farmers have festively and communally shared the culmination of a year's work. Therefore, this year, the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and the cooperatives Arroceros del Delta del Ebro and Cámara Arrocera del Montsià, in synergy with the local municipalities, are opening the festivities commemorating the rice harvest worldwide and launching the Ruta de la Sega (Rice Harvest Route).

The ringing of the mallets at La Forja del Terri blends with that of the Sords bell tower, like the beat of two worlds that are languishing, but which the three young men around the century-old anvil are determined to recover and modernise. They are, in their early thirties, Iu Gironès, Llorenç Rodríguez Astor and Jordi Roura Jou, new generation forgers, with no ancestors behind them. And since the beginning of the year they have also been members of a cooperative located in a farmhouse in Pla de l'Estany that has fire and iron as common denominators, but which seeks to go further: to reclaim rurality and craftsmanship as a way of life, as well as to recover and hand-make the tools of the old trades that are slowly being revived.
