It's worth remembering that Feijóo had only previously submitted the messages of the former Valencian president, but not his own, and that he did so just hours before Christmas Eve. In this new batch of messages, it's clear that the PP leader was, from the very beginning of the crisis, uneasy and worried about the political consequences. This is the only way to explain why, at 8:26 p.m., after a perfunctory message of support half an hour earlier, he wrote from Mazón: "Keep your spirits up. Lead like you led with the fire." And later he repeatedly sent instructions and advice on how to manage the crisis to achieve communication success: "Take the lead in communication. It's key. The mayors, provincial councils, coordinate with the people, and you keep them informed," he told him.

The ruling states that Mark Zuckerberg's multinational company gained a competitive advantage by including advertising on its Facebook and Instagram social networks using users' personal data protected by the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The decision responds to a lawsuit filed by the national digital press association, which argued that the improper use of users' protected personal data gave Meta an unfair advantage. The court ruled in favor of the association and ordered Meta to pay a multimillion-euro fine for unfair competition.

The People's Party (PP), obsessed with recovering the stifling atmosphere of the end of Felipe González's administration, brandished the WhatsApp messages between Pedro Sánchez and José Luis Ábalos that it has been publishing these days. The World as if they were a summary piece of evidence, when in reality they are pure gossip. No, the messages do not prove any malpractice or corruption in the Spanish government's bailout of Air Europa. This is a testament to how destructive the Ábalos case could be for the PSOE.

It's an anecdote, but since there will be people who are paid to write it, and people who will look at it twice before making him say it, it's indicative of the extent to which they think that in a society with brains softened by television and screens, you'll only be heard if you tell bad jokes. Or perhaps they think that's how they'll come across on comedy shows and in articles by columnists who are too vague, but I find it surprising to expose a presidential candidate who no longer has the reputation of being the funniest person at the party (far behind Rajoy) to a pun that not even the ChatGPT robot would have suggested.

Generally, users refer to these as applications because they are mostly used from their mobile phones. But in reality we should call them app services, because they consist of two components: the application with which we consult and interact, and the back-office that does the real work, residing on servers in some remote data center. The providers of these services promote their use through their own applications - often for various devices and operating systems - so that they allow them to capture more information about users. But in many cases, although they do not tell us, this two-component application architecture opens the door to using them with third-party applications, which improve the digital consumer experience and respect privacy more. We review some examples below.
