After the death of Steve Jobs in 2011, Tim Cook took the reins of the manufacturer of iPhones and Macintosh computers. Fifteen years later, the executive decides to step aside and will become executive chairman of the company, in a move announced months after turning 65. John Ternus, 51, will now be in charge of commanding the company, in a change scheduled to take effect on September 1.

This year, that tradition was broken: in the afternoon, Marc Murtra of Telefónica and Tim Höttges of Deutsche Telekom repeated their usual refrain, demanding better treatment from European regulators that would encourage consolidation into larger groups. According to Murtra, this is essential for the continent's sovereignty, because it's naive to believe that the US and China will provide us with their most advanced AI models in ten years' time. Höttges introduced a new element: he called on states to invest in digital services from the major European telecommunications companies. telecoms European companies, instead of opting for the easy route of contracting with American hyperscalers. Christel Heydemann (Orange) and Margherita Della Valle (Vodafone) met this morning, and Della Valle announced an alliance with Orange and Telefónica to jointly deploy satellite coverage capable of competing with Elon Musk's Starlink, which he announced this afternoon will begin operating. GSMA Intelligence says that 80% of mobile operators already have agreements with some satellite network to supplement service in areas without coverage.

This was stated by Harvard historian Niall Ferguson in his book. The triumph of money (Debate, 2011, updated in 2024). Over the years, this trend has solidified, and the financial economy is outpacing the real world. A prime example is the large technology companies in the United States, especially those most closely related to artificial intelligence (AI). These are companies that have surpassed historic price levels and are beginning to raise alarms not only about the existence of a bubble, which no one doubts, but also about its potential bursting.

Digital technology has become indispensable, whether for information retrieval, social networking, e-commerce, operating systems, or smartphones. Each of these fields is dominated by a few companies. The leaders are Google with its search engine; Meta in social networking with WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram; Amazon in e-commerce; Microsoft with Windows and applications; and Apple in mobile phones. High fixed costs, network effects, and dynamic economies of scale (e.g., in the learning curve) make these companies increasingly competitive. big tech are dominant. In the fields of Empordà and Gironès, thousands of tons of multiple varieties are harvested each season, which, under the protected geographical indication (PGI) of Manzana de Girona, are sold year-round in supermarkets throughout Catalonia. There are more than 2,000 hectares of perfectly aligned rows of apple trees that outline the pre-coastal landscape of the region, a few kilometers from the sea, at the foot of Montgrí, but also further north, in Sant Pere Pescador and all its surroundings. The harvest season is concentrated from mid-August to November, and throughout this period, the farmers, along with Nearly 2,000 seasonal workers are moving to the area, work hard to fulfill orders. In just three and a half months, they must harvest the entire amount of fruit sold during the year. So, They store it in chambers with a pioneering conservation system The Poma de Girona designation brings together three large companies under a single label, each of which works with around thirty local producers. They are Giro Poma, in Ullà; Girona Fruits, in Bordils; and Frutícula Empordà, in Sant Pere Pescador. Together, they represent the main agricultural activity in the region. By 2025, they forecast a total production of more than 89,000 tons, 10% less than the previous year, which was one of the best in history, but in line with the average of the last five years. This volume represents approximately one-third of the total production of Catalonia, which, outside the Girona region, is concentrated mainly in the lands of Lleida, and a quarter of the production of all of Spain. Girona farmers, who collaborate with the Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA) to improve sustainability and efficiency, grow a dozen different varieties, but only five have the PGI: the plump, yellowish-green Golden; the crunchy, reddish Gala; the deep green, more acidic Granny Smith; and the plump, very sweet Red Delicious.

It was about the upcoming release of the new iPhone 17. "Tim Cook has presented the different versions of the iPhone 17 through his YouTube channel. Among them, a prominent place has been reserved for the iPhone Air, the thinnest and lightest in its history." The images to complement the news were from the brand's presentation videos, where we could see, slowly moving, the new phones with their sinuous shapes and the usual striking colors. They are very tempting images that seem to confirm that all those magical dystopias that we imagined were far away will finally be in our pockets. Cruanyes continued reporting: "We were also able to see the new range of smart watches and headphones." And, finally, some service information for viewers: "They will be available for purchase starting September 19." In the images, we saw how Apple's presentation also alerted us to the possibility of ordering them from that moment on.

Now, through his companies X (formerly Twitter) and xAI (its artificial intelligence branch), he's suing Apple and OpenAI, alleging that they "inhibit competition in AI." The complaint, filed in a court in the Northern District of Texas, argues that the two companies "have colluded" to maintain a virtual monopoly on artificial intelligence in smartphones.

Very refreshing and low in alcohol. A healthier drink, therefore. That's how it was born.Mooma, a project that, thanks to the third generation, has grown tremendously, generated a lot of added value, and has made its mark gastronomically. Mooma, by the way, is the result of merging the words Montgrí and apple. The apple orchards are located in the middle of a triangle between the Montgrí Natural Park, the Medes Islands, and the Baix Ter, and it's a fantastic place to visit. Located on the outskirts of Palau-Sator, you can discover how they make their apple-based products (which are much more than just cider: there's also apple juice, compote, and so on) or you can just stop for lunch. There's ample parking and it's designed for all types of visitors. I'd say it's a good place to go with the family.

Now, the large American chip manufacturer has reached a new milestone: its capitalization now exceeds 4 trillion dollars – almost three times the GDP of Spain – and sets a new world record. With the current situation of international trade war following the tariff policy of US President Donald Trump, this meteoric rise in the share price of the first American company is even more striking.

Its distressing metaphor of capitalist life has hooked many viewers to the point that it has become the most watched fiction on Apple TV+, surpassing Ted Lasso, until now the great spearhead of Tim Cook's platform. In the series, several people agree to undergo a surgical intervention that divides their lives in two: when they are at work, in the Lumon offices, they do not remember anything from the outside, and when they are in their daily lives they do not remember anything from work. The retrofuturistic aesthetic and the mysteries that pepper the plot have made Severance It is one of the most addictive fictions of the moment.

He is an electronic engineer, although he defines himself as an "inventor", and he marked a before and after in the world of technology with the development of the first personal computer in the 1970s. The Apple I would end up becoming the first computer launched by the brand with the bitten apple when, together with Jobs, they began to market it. I spent my free time drawing and designing computers, and when I finished high school I knew I wanted to be an engineer, but what I didn't know was that engineers designed computers, I thought they only made radios and fabrics; "I told my parents that my dream was to have a computer; I preferred to have a computer than a house," he explains.
