It will be a rematch of last year's Copa de la Reina final – with a 2-0 victory for Barcelona – after the Blaugrana lived up to expectations against Badalona Women following a 0-0 draw in the first leg (4-1), and Atlético Madrid eliminated Tenerife on Tuesday (2-1). But the first goal of the match – and of the tie – was a long time coming. Alexia Putellas opened the scoring just before halftime, and from then on, the game slowed down. The captain, from the penalty spot, made it 2-0, while Kika Nazareth and Ewa Pajor completed the scoring. Lice Chamorro scored Badalona's lone goal (4-1).

After narrowly avoiding relegation in the final weeks of the season, the Badalona side has taken its first step forward under the guidance of coach Marc Ballester. Currently eighth, just three points behind Atlético de Madrid (sixth place), optimism has taken hold at ONA, as the team is known. "Barça is a long way off, but so are Real Madrid and other clubs with very large budgets. Our realistic goal is a fifth or sixth place finish," Ballester stated a few days before another historic milestone. Badalona Women will play the first leg of the Copa de la Reina semifinals against Barça this Thursday (9 pm). "We've earned the right to be where we are."

The great thing about the Cup is that everyone can compete against everyone; Albacete eliminated Real Madrid," commented Balde before learning who their opponent would be. These are the numbers of Ewa Pajor, who sealed the Copa de la Reina quarterfinals with a brace at the Alfredo Di Stéfano Stadium (0-4). The Blaugrana showed no mercy and will be in the semifinals after a hard-fought match that ended with another resounding victory for Pere Romeu's team. Alexia Putellas—after heading in a corner chipped by Graham Hansen—and Salma Paralluelo—with a great pass from Patri Guijarro—completed the scoring. Barça continues its dominance and has now won 23 of the 24 Clásicos played.

Clara Serrajordi once again led the Blaugrana midfield, and with a goal and two assists, demonstrating her excellent vision, she guided the team to victory at Alavés (1-6), the only Second Division team remaining in the competition after Europa League's elimination against Athletic Bilbao. The Champions League wound still stings, but in the Spanish league, Pere Romeu's team remains unrivaled, as has become clear in a season in which the Catalans have won absolutely every title: La Liga, Super Cup, and finally, the Copa de la Reina. Claudia Pina, always electric, always decisive, was in charge of deciding the match with two goals, the second of which was beautiful.
