Silence, puzzled glances, and impatient sighs, because in the morning everyone is trying to keep to the limit. One... two... three... almost four minutes pass, and you can already hear angry people calling out that they'll be late. The situation is awkward: people touching each other, standing in silence, with no idea what's going on. And just when the general silence is about to be broken, the train starts moving again and enters the next station without incident.

Macías alleges that she was dismissed in retaliation for an internal investigation into workplace bullying that implicated three managers. The then compliance officer TMB regrets that her dismissal has caused "fear" among the company's employees and has undermined "credibility" and "trust" in the internal reporting system, which is mandatory in large companies. "What can an employee think who wants to report an irregularity if the compliance body is treated like I was? I seriously doubt that TMB has received many complaints since my dismissal," she stated.

The company has implemented a novel solution for the city: starting January 26, the H12 will receive a special reinforcement of eight additional buses on the central section of the line, between Plaça de les Glòries and Plaça Cerdà. "This is the part of the route with the highest demand," according to sources at the operator. This is one of the main measures included in the new Bus Agenda 2026-2030, which TMB presented this Thursday morning, and the one that will be implemented most quickly, within 15 days. This injection of buses on the central section of the line will reduce the frequency from the current 8 minutes to "5 minutes or less" and increase passenger capacity by 15%. Furthermore, the fact that there are more trains covering the same route and stops, but only on a specific section of the line, opens the door for TMB to consider other, more targeted improvements at the beginning and end, such as the line (which actually starts in Gornal and runs to Besòs Verneda) having double trains at more stations.

The union filed a complaint almost two years ago challenging the shift system of the Catalan capital's public transport company, deeming it "illegal, inhumane, and dangerous for occupational health." The court has now ruled that all workers in the seven groups affected by the case (drivers, information agents, workshop and warehouse staff, among others) are entitled to a minimum weekly rest period of 48 uninterrupted hours. According to the ruling, which ARA has obtained, this amount is calculated as either 36 hours of weekly rest and 12 hours of non-overlapping daily rest; or 84 hours of rest over 14 days. The ruling—dated June 2024 but only recently made public—also emphasizes the requirement of a 12-hour daily rest period between work shifts.

For the President, this measure will represent a "giant step" toward improving the Barcelona metro, which he described as a backbone of the capital and the cities in the metropolitan area. These works will have a considerable impact on commuters, since over a quarter of the total number of metro passengers use this line. To minimise their impact, the works have been scheduled to coincide with the off-season: there was already a first cut coinciding with the Easter holidays, and commuters will now suffer a longer interruption, between July and August. From July 1 there will be no service between the stations of La Sagrera and Vilapicina. This will last throughout the month and, from August onwards, the works will extend to Horta station.
