"For Inés, those were the three longest and most terrifying days of her life." In the Ministry of Equality's new campaign for November 25th, Ester Expósito narrates what is a real-life horror story for many women in the country. The Spanish actress explains a fictional case of vicarious violence, written by the Argentinian Hernán Casciari, in which a father kidnaps his daughter with the aim of hurting his ex-partner and forcing her to return to him.

Last year, seventeen women across the country were reported for allegedly filing false complaints in cases of gender-based violence. Only one case resulted in a conviction for the complainant. This represents just 0.0005% of the 199,094 victims who went to the courts specializing in violence against women. Data from the Public Prosecutor's Office, throughout its historical series – since 2009 – shows that cases of false complaints in cases of gender-based violence are statistically insignificant, a fraction of the total number of cases. Nevertheless, the myth surrounding this phenomenon often continues to be used as a weapon against victims.

Around 2,000 people demonstrated this November 25th in the streets of Barcelona in the two marches called by the feminist movement, which once again revealed its divisions, as had already occurred in the March 8th events. "It's not abuse, it's rape," "Long live the feminist struggle," and "I believe you" were among the most frequently heard slogans during the main march organized by the Feminist November collective. "We only see the tip of the iceberg, the murdered women. But violence is much more widespread, and it's important to support women and help them identify it in order to prevent it," denounced a spokesperson for the organization, lawyer Marisa Fernández, who also criticized the impossibility of fighting against the "machista julianzas" (a derogatory term for women who support women in the Juventud feminist movement) and the prevailing sexism.
