That is to say: the worst moment in terms of hydrocarbon availability is yet to come. But the disruption will not be permanent. For a paradoxical reason. US stocks hit their all-time high this week. Financial markets are telling Trump that they want peace and for him to stop the war. It is a market that Trump can manipulate with tricks for his own benefit, but hardly to encourage him to wage war if they do not want it. They are his friends and they have expressed themselves clearly. Nevertheless, the moment is dangerous. The temptation to flee forward will be there. But I believe that the Persian leaders, fanatical but not stupid, will understand, and that in a relatively short period an understanding will be reached that will allow both sides to claim victory. I think it will include an open Strait of Hormuz.

Specifically, with the infrastructure that will allow its transport. Starting this Tuesday, the Spanish manager of gas infrastructure launches the public participation plan for the hydrogen network in the Principality, through which it plans to gather input from affected territories: from citizen opinion to city councils. To this end, it will hold a total of 16 in-person participatory workshops in different affected municipalities from this April 13th to next May 30th. "The project information will be presented, contributions will be collected, and doubts will be resolved," indicate Enagás sources. The intention is to minimize possible social and political resistances to the project, especially after the experience with infrastructures, now completely stalled, such as the MidCat pipeline that was to connect Catalonia with France.

According to the third vice president and minister for Ecological Transition, Sara Aagesen, these initiatives were given the "green light" within the plan for valleys and hydrogen clusters, which is endowed with a total of 1,214 million euros from the Next Generation funds of the European Union. In the case of the Catalan projects, the grant plans to allocate a total of 236 million euros for plants that require a total investment of 617 million. Other green hydrogen projects from Galicia, Castilla y León and Aragón have also been selected.

This is the warning scientists such as David Cebon, professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Cambridge and member of the Hydrogen Science Coalition, created by academics and researchers to nurture the debate on the future of hydrogen. Cebon was in Barcelona to participate in the Global Assembly on Green Hydrogen, inaugurated by the Minister of Ecological Transition, Teresa Ribera, and there he wanted to make it clear that some of the uses we are now giving to green hydrogen are highly inefficient.
