We have seen it with Casa Orsola. Another episode, this time with a happy ending for the tenants and many questions about the future of the other Casas Orsola in Barcelona. Today we report the sad reality of a vocational training student – a very good student – of Moroccan origin who has had to live on the street: the help of the teachers has saved him and now he is waiting for a more stable solution. It is an extreme case. Others are much more common and less dramatic, but equally worrying: many young people from middle-class families (understood as a wide range of others) who cannot emancipate themselves because prices are skyrocketing. The limits of the stressed areas have slowed the rise, but it is not enough. The supply does not grow. Tourism and foreign investors continue to strain the market upwards. And a significant volume of empty apartments remains.

The most expensive apartment in the history of Barcelona, and probably of all Catalonia, is formally for sale. The 650-square metre luxury penthouse is part of the Mandrin Oriental residential complex and has four bedrooms and spectacular views over the entire city. "We are taking offers in excess of €40m," explains Josep Maria Farré, founder of the KKH Property Investors group.

On Tuesday the Spanish government approved a new series of housing measures. The star project, the state housing law, was put on hold after the judiciary did not approve the first report on the law; however, the executive has approved two other measures to facilitate access to housing, especially for young people: the young tenant grant and the state plan for access to housing 2022-2025, endowed with €1.7bn.
