The arrest of the individual, who is now in prison, took place in December, after a citizen alerted the police a month earlier through an email address set up to report child pornography. Investigators from the Central Cybercrime Unit confirmed that the detainee used private rooms on live streaming applications to attract interested users by showing photos of himself with his daughter in bed. Subsequently, on another application, he broadcast live the assaults he committed against his own minor daughter. The payment the arrested man received for connecting with these pedophiles was virtual currency redeemable on the website for gifts or improved search engine ranking.

The Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) arrested a 23-year-old man in Olot on Tuesday for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor living in a Generalitat (Catalan Government) Residential Educational Action Center (CRAE).
