Perhaps it's harder to see now, but Barcelona has always been a rebellious city. A place where not everything has to be the same. Where another way of doing things is possible. Even when the proposed changes are small, modest, but no less relevant for that. Today I'll tell you about an excellent bar-restaurant located on Consell de Cent. On a beautifully designed pedestrian street, filled with options dominated by restaurant chains. Here, in the middle of it all, like Thursday, Bar Jueves was born.

They want to know when they'll reopen. And the answer is that the Mundial Bar reopens on Wednesday, September 10th. From then until the 14th, they'll be offering much more affordable dishes and tapas. They'll be applying a 50% discount on reservations for both lunch and dinner, reminiscent of when prices were in pesetas. The interest aroused by the neighborhood of Sant Agustí Vell Square is explained by the fact that this was a refuge for people of all political stripes and the home of a boxing club.

No objection. Those of us who usually work during this month when the city of Barcelona empties out say goodbye to everyone, wishing them a good rest, and then happily welcome them back when they return or, as in today's case, when they open their doors again. The bar La Plata It's back with us, and that's cause for celebration. The other reason to be happy is that in La Plata, they don't need to introduce new things, reinvent themselves, jump on any trend, or even leave their comfort zone. It's back just the way we like it: as always.

The Costa Brava is the top destination in our country, and from one end to the other, you'll find plenty of beautiful beaches to lay out your towel, swim, or sunbathe. However, before or after a swim, you can't miss the precious moment of sitting on the terrace of a good bar or restaurant, with spectacular views of the sea, and enjoy some tapas, have a vermouth, have a cocktail, or order a fish and seafood rice dish that will leave its mark.

Since the pandemic, this popular spot hasn't been open to the public, and only private events were held. Until now. Just a few days ago, it was launched by the Confiteria Group, specialists in restoring historic sites and polishing them. The owners' desire is to maintain its spirit while updating it. Lito Baldovinos, founder of the Confiteria Group, tells me that together they've done everything. Just a day before opening, his mother was still painting boards. I ask him what offer they have in mind, and he's crystal clear. He wants this to be—in his words—"one of the best." picnic area".

The bar was so prominent and deeply rooted in Barcelona's Raval neighborhood that its closure leaves many regular customers and Plaça Vicenç Martorell orphaned. The legendary bar with a dance hall, located in the fashionable Sant Gervasi-Galvany district of Barcelona that lived its glorious years in the 80s, has been demolished on Monday. Its four walls, which had initially been a working-class casino, held many stories. Some were revealed when the company Sunway threw the facade of the premises to the ground: "It is where I asked my partner to marry me" recalled Agustí, who's work office is nearby. Some neighbors, passing by, also stopped to see the building, to take pictures and to lament the disappearance of the premises with acquaintances.
