Catalan universities are leaders in STEM studies in Spain. This is indicated by the results of the latest annual ranking compiled by the Knowledge and Development Foundation (CYD). This ranking focuses on STEM degrees (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), and, without a doubt, the best-performing universities are Catalan universities.

The Catalan Booksellers' Guild confirmed this Wednesday, two weeks after Sant Jordi, the record figures that were announced the night before: €26 million in sales, representing a 2.8% increase compared to 2024, and 2 million copies sold. According to the Book Chamber, "these figures make this year's day the best in history and reaffirm the consolidation of the growth trend of recent years." It turns out that Easter, so close to Sant Jordi, instead of harming sales, actually boosted them.

For the first time since the ranking QS Quacquarelli Symonds exists, three Catalan universities are among the top 250 positions. The list, which is one of the three most important in the world (along with the Times Higher Education and the University of Shanghai), was published on Tuesday and ranks 1,300 universities according to the academic works published and cited and the opinions of 130,000 academics and 75,000 professionals who work in them. The three Catalan universities are among the 20% of the best in the world.
