The number of small boats arriving to the islands from the coast of Algeria has increased by 84% in the first nine months of the year, while boat arrivals to Spain have decreased by 38%. The islands already represent 23% of total arrivals, when seven years ago that percentage was a residual 0.4%, according to the latest data from the Ministry of the Interior.

Òmnium Cultural, the ANC and Irídia move to annul the agreement the amnesty granted to the 46 national police officers prosecuted for the violence against the voters of the 1-O referendum in Barcelona. The organizations announced this Thursday the filing of several appeals before the Supreme Court to withdraw the pardon for the officers, which was upheld by Barcelona's 7th Court and later confirmed by the Barcelona Court of Appeals. The filings before the high court accuse the police officers of torture and inhuman and degrading treatment and emphasize that these are crimes that cannot be protected under the amnesty law.

The Irídia-Center for the Defense of Human Rights association filed an appeal this Thursday to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in which it warns that no Spanish court has agreed to investigate the assault of a metro guard on a teenager in 2022 as torture. As of today, the guard has been acquitted. Despite the scene being recorded on video, the judge ruled that there was insufficient evidence and the injuries suffered by the minor were attributed to the fact that he had been restrained after becoming violent, according to the guard's defense.

A Barcelona court is investigating two mossos d'esquadra for the 19-year-old girl who lost an eye three months ago, on the first night of protests against the imprisonment of Pablo Hasél. They are the shotgunners who fired foam bullets on 16 February at around half past eight in the evening at the intersection of Carrer Bosch and Via Augusta. Judge Joaquín Aguirre, head of Barcelona's investigating court number 1, has admitted the complaint filed by the victim and has summoned the girl, a witness and the two riot police officers to testify on 14 June as investigated parties.
