The number of positive cases among Catalan students who have been infected as a result of an end-of-year trip has risen to 353: 166 in the Mallorca outbreak, 153 in Menorca and 34 in Tenerife. In addition, through the information provided by these young people, the number of close contacts has risen to 2,234 people. Since the mass outbreaks were detected, the epidemiological surveillance service and primary care centers (CAP) have made 5,292 calls to these contacts, 3,119 of which only on Monday. All of them have been instructed to isolate and are being scheduled diagnostic tests to detect if they are also positive. In fact, 1,528 tests have been done and 379 sick leaves have been given to comply with the isolations and quarantines.

The prosecutorJaime Guasp Ferrer has sent on Tuesday a letter to the contentious administrative court number 3 of Palma opposing the lockdown of the young students affected by the mass covid-19 outbreaks originating in student trips that continue in the Islands. Between tomorrow and the day after tomorrow the court will have to rule on the resolution of the Balearic Government to curb the wave of contagions, but the Prosecutor maintains that the measures "are not fully justified or proportionate in accordance with current legislation". After receiving the prosecutor's brief, the court has requested more information to Francina Armengol's executive, according to sources at the High Court of Justice of the Balearic Islands (TSJIB).

New "mass outbreak" following an end-of-year trip. Up to 24 students from a number of schools in Barcelona have been infected with coronavirus on an end-of-year trip to Menorca from 12th to 18th June, and 40 more are awaiting results. The Department of Health has said it will not disclose the names of the affected schools because the centres have no connection with the organisation of travel, organised by the students themselves independently by creating Whatsapp groups and contacting travel agencies specialising in this type of event.

An outbreak in the nursing home Zoilo Feliu in La Bisbal d'Empordà (Baix Empordà) has caused two deaths and has affected 33 of the centre's 55 residents, most of whom are asymptomatic, as reported by ACN. As for the workers, five of the 56 professional staff have tested positive. The outbreak was detected on April 26 and the two deaths have occurred among elderly people with previous pathologies. On Monday, 23 of the infected residents had overcome the disease and are now no longer in isolation.
