His father and grandfather were pilots, and from a young age, he experienced a passion for aviation at home. Over the years, his fascination with airplanes became a vocation; he became a pilot, and now, with more than twenty years of experience soaring through the skies, he tries to help people overcome their fear of flying. He does this from his Instagram account where she has thousands of followers and has just published a book –Fly without fear (Planet) – where he compiles practical advice and the best tricks he's learned to overcome the anxiety many people feel when boarding a plane.

"I just got back from my first flying vacation in nineteen years," explains Anon. Sandra, on the other hand, went more than a decade without flying and once thought she'd "never get on a plane again." Nigel lived for twenty years with "severe anxiety" just thinking about flying, but after his trip from Vancouver, he admits that he now "almost enjoys it." These testimonies reflect a reality that affects 25% of the world's population: the fear of flying.

On Good Friday, the busiest day of Easter at El Prat airport, only 230 commercial flights have been raised or landed in Barcelona. The 2021 departure operation by air has been, as expected, low key. Unlike last year - in full home lockdown and with mobility halted except for repatriation flights - the airlines have had little margin to reschedule routes, but the reality is that from Friday 26 March to Monday 5 April El Prat will only host about 2,100 operations. According to data provided by the airport manager Aena, of these flights, around 950 (45%) are domestic and the remaining 1,150 (55%) will be for international routes, mainly to European capitals.
