Argentona has a street with two names. It's not that the street changes name because of its length. Passeig de la República has the exact same location as Passeig del Baró de Viver. Needless to say, this causes headaches for delivery drivers who have to deliver packages to residents who live there. But this isn't the reason that led the Heritage Councilor to eliminate this duplication, a move that has opened a can of worms for the Maresme municipality.

Three months after his election, Jordi Domingo finally presented the new government of the Council of the Republic. The people who will accompany him at the head of this institution come from different areas within the independence movement. They are the archaeologist Eudald Carbonell; the former rector of the Open University of Catalonia (UOC) Imma Tubella; the architect Marga Payola; the businessman Àlex Fenoll; the chemical engineer Montserrat Rossell; and Joan Passolas, a tourism specialist. A balanced and smaller executive compared to Carles Puigdemont's previous executive after the problems finding people that Domingo admitted in the ARA.

Jordi Domingo is the new president of the Council of the Republic. With a turnout of only 9% of the almost 90,000 registered in the Consell, the candidate of the managing board has uncontestedly imposed himself on the other three rivals in the electoral race with 65.8% support (5,340 votes). In second place was Montserrat Duran, who was the voice of the less pro-government local councils, with 22.7% support (1,846 votes), and in third place, the former vice president of the Consell and MEP of Junts, Toni Comín, who was not even able to reach 10% of the votes (745). In fourth place was Majorcan Antoni Walter Castelló, who came close to 2% of the votes thanks to the 161 votes obtained, although he was the only one of the four who had no chance of winning because he was running without a team or support with the sole objective of claiming the Catalan Countries.

The Consell per la República already has a government, with Carles Puigdemont as its leader and an assembly of representatives with 121 seats, and now also a "free ministry of Foreign Affairs". The Waterloo-based entity wants to be nourished by "representatives from around the world" who will dedicated themselves to "explaining the Catalan conflict". They can be volunteers.

An institutional meeting, of gestures and symbols, has served to stage a rapprochement between ERC and Junts after the negotiations to form a government almost failed. The president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, has travelled this Friday to Waterloo (Belgium) to meet former president Carles Puigdemont for the first time since he took office. After an hour and a half of meeting at the headquarters of the Consell per la República, the two have endeavoured to avoid highlighting the discrepancies between the two formations and have focused on the meeting points. They warned that pardons "are not the political solution" to the basic conflict and insisted on moving towards the referendum on self-determination.

The Consell per la República (CxR), which has played a central role in these last hours in the public break between Reublican Left of Catalonia (ERC) and Together for Catalonia (JxCat), has denied on Monday it seeks to oversee the presidency of the Generalitat. After the vice-president, Pere Aragonès, has assured that JxCat wants to subordinate the Government to the CxR, former MP and member of CxR Lluís Llach has wanted to dissociate the entity from the negotiations to form a new executive, He claimed CxR is not seeking to direct autonomic politics. In any case, he has made himself available to pro-independence parties should they reach a "consensus" on the specific role to be played by the Consell. In the meantime, he has assured that the entity presided over by Carles Puigdemont has its roadmap defined - the so-called Let's prepare for unilateralism - and that they will continue to work on this line.

A day before the second investiture debate, the Consell per la República (CxR) has made a move: it offers to reformulate its governance to include the strategic direction of the Independence bid. Through a press statement, CxR assures that it has to be the "republican institution from which strategies have to be agreed on to make effective what we committed ourselves to after the result of the referendum", but it agrees with ERC and the CUP -who are suspicious of CxR- that "modifications" have to be made in its functioning.
