It would be the blow to the repeat election seven months later: the formation went from 57 seats to 10. The party would then fall into a spiral of internal fights and a loss of leadership (with a hostile takeover bid by the PP (including) that have led to the practical disappearance of the institutions. But what has become of the former glories of the orange party?

But this Sunday it was at the centre of a new controversy because a twelve-year-old contestant was asked what cereal most traditional Italian pasta was made of and she only knew the answer in Spanish. When she asked if she could say it in Spanish, the presenter reminded her that it was not an option: "Here, that's not an option, because it's a TV3 contest in Catalan and we have to answer in Catalan. I'm very sorry, but I can't accept it". The rules of the contest, to which ARA has had access and which are given to all participants, are unequivocal. "The answers given must be correct and exact, without changes or nuances and in Catalan," they read.

Two and a half years later the same protagonists (with some change because Albert Rivera is no longer there and Inés Arrimadas missed the plane and did not attend then) meet again in the same place to protest against the granting of pardons to Catalan political prisoners that the Spanish government is preparing. And this is because during all this time both the PP and Cs have tried to distance themselves from the extreme right, but at the moment of truth the Catalan issue brings them together again and puts them on the same stage.

Although the PP and Ciudadanos were reluctant to take to the streets and wanted the offensive to be mainly institutional, such as the collection of signatures that PP has announced and the motion it will take to regional parliaments and city councils to force the PSOE to show its hand and thus wear it down, in the end they have finally given in. In fact, the pardons are bringing back together the three parties that converged in Plaza Colón in February 2019, portraying a right-wing front against Pedro Sánchez's government at a time of détente with pro-independence parties. It also adds to the rapprochement between Pablo Casado and Inés Arrimadas, who would be trying to rebuild bridges after having met a few days ago at a meal in Madrid to recover the relationship lost after the failed motion of censure in Murcia, as advanced by El Confidencial and ARA has confirmed.

From the outset, the fragile equilibrium that still existed in the party between the moderates (in favour of a rapprochement with the PSOE) and the riveristas has been broken. People like Toni Cantó, who negotiated the Valencian budgets with Ximo Puig following the new guidelines of Arrimadas and now denies them, can become the voice of internal opposition towards the leader of Cs and can make the party implode. Every time Rivera's successor takes a step towards the PSOE in exchange for power or influence, she loses votes on the right. And right now she risks being swept away in Madrid by the media steamroller that Isabel Díaz Ayuso (PP) and Rocío Monasterio (Vox) have set in motion. Words such as "traitor" or "Judas" were trending topic in the networks in reference to Arrimadas.
