Company turnover in Spain is growing at the highest rate in the last 15 months despite the geopolitical instability arising from the conflict in the Middle East. According to the latest provisional data published this Monday by the National Statistics Institute (INE), company revenues compared to last year increased by 8.9% during the month of June, five points more compared to the year-on-year variation registered in May.

The technology industry has become one of the central pillars of the Catalan economy. The economic figures of the ICT sector (information and communication technologies) have grown non-stop in the last decade, according to the 18 editions of the annual barometer published by the Technological Circle of Catalonia. The latest edition records an unprecedented business record: in 2025, technology companies in the Principality exceeded 30.6 billion euros in revenue. This is an increase of 13% compared to 2024, when the previous ceiling was also broken with more than 28 billion euros in income. Last year's total is equivalent to 9.1% of the country's gross domestic product (GDP), half a point more than the previous year.

Businesses in the Barcelona region continued to grow in 2023, the third consecutive year of growth following the impact of the pandemic in 2020. Specifically, all commercial companies in the province increased their revenue by 5.3% compared to 2022, reaching €367.078 million. Furthermore, the study indicates that business turnover is projected to continue increasing by 6.4% in 2024.
