And it's not the table where he wrote The Origin of Speciesbut rather his garden. There, Darwin spent hours conducting small experiments with plants, such as the so-called Darwin's orchid or Christmas orchid, from Madagascar. It is a very particular species, with an extraordinarily long nectary, over 20 centimeters. The scientist predicted the existence of an insect capable of reaching the hidden nectar. The butterfly would be discovered decades later, confirming an intuition based solely on botanical observation.

They are a group of caregivers. Some already know each other, others don't, and today they are visiting the immersive exhibition. We are NatureAn experience that gives them something that daily life denies them: a pause, perspective, and the certainty that they are not alone. The activity, promoted by the Culture for All initiative together with the social programs of the "la Caixa" Foundation, reminds them that culture is not a luxury, but a right. The group—mostly women around 60 years old—participates in the Caregivers' School, an initiative of the "la Caixa" Foundation's Comprehensive Care for People with Advanced Illnesses program, which has already provided training and support to almost 10,000 people, including family caregivers and program volunteers. The visit to the immersive exhibition allows caregivers to disconnect, even if only for a few hours, from the relentless clock of caregiving. The activity is part of the Culture for All initiative, which has been working for years to eliminate barriers and facilitate access to culture for those who need it most and who may find themselves in vulnerable situations: groups of bereavement teenagers, elderly people experiencing loneliness, people in the process of entering the workforce, single mothers with children living in poverty, and professionals.

The Italian filmmaker takes advantage of the historical episode of the flight from Paris of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette – June 1791 – to bring together in the same carriage three real characters: Restif de la Bretonne, a libertine and popular writer – today we would call it a populist, perhaps with a tendency towards fake news–; Thomas Paine, the English revolutionary intellectual, and the famous traveler and seducer Giacomo Casanova, already elderly and quite physically deteriorated.

Mars is therefore on the media agenda. All this coincides by chance with the inauguration next Thursday, February 25, of the exhibition Mart. El mirall vermell ('Mars. The red mirror') at the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB). "In fact, we've been working on this exhibition for two and a half years", explains Juan Insúa, the curator of the show. "It was scheduled to open in November, but the pandemic has delayed everything", he says, which has made the exhibition coincide with the Martian news. But Mart. The Mirall Vermell goes far beyond this chance opportunity. The sciences and the humanities need each other more and more", Insúa argues, "so this exhibition, like all the projects I do, is born from a third culture perspective".
