The Constitutional Court has unanimously decided not to admit the latest attempt by the ultraconservative Catholic group Christian Lawyers to halt Noelia's euthanasia, which has been suspended since the summer of 2024 due to legal proceedings initiated by her father. The Constitutional Court ruled that no human rights had been violated during this process, and its decision does not close the last opportunity Noelia's father and Christian Lawyers had in the Spanish legal system to prevent the young woman's decision.

Architectural barriers that prevent access to buildings or public transport; denials of curricular adaptations and lack of empathy from medical staff; inability to follow courses or shows or to understand official documents by theabsence of the easy-to-read versionThese are, broadly speaking, the main reasons behind the 248 complaints received by the Catalan Committee of Representatives of People with Disabilities (Cocarmi) in 2024, highlighting that, despite progress, accessibility remains the biggest challenge while awaiting government approval of the pact. The organization reports that physical, communication, and administrative barriers continue to limit the full participation of people with disabilities in social, educational, and working life. While acknowledging recent regulatory advances—such as the approval of the Accessibility Code—and the implementation of best practices, it warns that these are insufficient without increased investment to address shortcomings, clear implementation timelines, and effective monitoring mechanisms to track progress. According to the report, 248 complaints of rights violations were registered in 2024. Of these, 40 relate to accessibility issues at facilities and buildings, or to official websites that are not adapted for people with visual impairments. Additionally, 31 complaints were received in the education sector, which can be summarized as follows: inclusive education is a recognized right on paper, but in practice, it is not guaranteed for everyone. This includes a lack of trained staff or specific support in mainstream schools, as reported by parents who were invited to enroll their daughter with Down syndrome. In the healthcare sector (24 complaints), the complaints focus on services that are not adapted to people with disabilities. For example, a woman with quadriplegia was denied a diagnostic test because the center did not have a hoist to transfer her from her chair to a bed in another location, despite her refusal. Among the demands is that hearing aids and cochlear implants be free of charge for those over 26. In the leisure, culture, and sports sectors, there are also complaints about the lack of after-school programs and summer camps for children with disabilities, the impossibility of attending concerts or plays due to a lack of adaptations for blind or deaf people, and the difficulty of entering pavilions or auditoriums. "There are reserved seating areas in cinemas that slope downwards. How are you supposed to manage in a wheelchair?" one of the complainants asks.

Thousands of people—200,000 according to the organizers, 150,000 according to the Guardia Urbana—participated in the LGBTI Pride parade this Saturday afternoon in Barcelona. The march, under the slogan "Why without diversity the world would be gray. Against censorship and the wave of reaction," began in Plaça Universitat and continued to Passeig de Lluís Companys, where concerts will be held until dawn. The regional minister for Equality and Feminism, Eva Menor, emphasized that "human rights are non-negotiable" and reiterated the Catalan government's "commitment" to these rights "in the face of the wave of reaction that is calling into question this rights-defending agenda." Also among those in attendance were the Mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni; the Minister of Equality, Ana Redondo; and the Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasun.

"And you, how many lesbians do you know?" The question is asked by Isabel Franc, lesbian writer and activist, co-author with Rosa Navarro of Behind the blinds, a comic about the silence that has historically surrounded lesbianism. In fact, trans women and gay men were the only faces of Franco's repression and the fight for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community, which has gained acronyms over the years. In the images from the period that photographers like Colita did in the first demonstrations at the end of the 70s, lesbian women (those that refer to the L) do not appear. "Trans women stood up "because they had nothing to lose and were already visible," Franc replies.

Victims or wage-earners? To put it very simply, this dichotomy focuses the debate on who and how sex workers should be treated, whether as women who are victims of an unequal system that puts a price on their bodies or women who freely decide to earn money with their sex. For Janet, spokesperson for Putas Libertarias del Raval and Putas Indignadas, "everyone chooses which part of their body they want to work with" while, in contrast, Amelia Tiganus, a former sex worker, rejects that it is a job because she says that if you take money out of the equation you would have to talk about rape. 

Portugal, France and Italy haven't given it much thought. Neither have Galicia nor the Canary Islands. Germany is hesitating; Catalonia, too. Countries that have implemented covid certificates want to make things difficult for those who do not want to be vaccinated. This means making it hard for them to access leisure; for example, they are not allowed to access bars and restaurants unless the have a negative test result or have been vaccinated. This is the aim of the compulsory nature of this new certificate. The reduction in rights it entails is offset by the greater good of making progress in the fight to defeat the coronavirus. The collective objective takes precedence over individual freedoms. This is always a complicated debate. In health issues, however, we have already seen it on other occasions and contexts, such as the ban on smoking indoors, now fully accepted but which at the time aroused much controversy.
