The attractiveness of this territory, and especially of Barcelona, is not diminished by the heatwaves that have occurred in recent weeks or by the increased cost of airline tickets and transport in general. In fact, visitors from other countries are the ones that have grown the most, with almost 2.7 million in July, a figure that represents an increase of 2.5% compared to the same period last year and a new record in the historical series, which collects data since 1999. As the data evolves, everything seems to be on track to set a real record, which would place Spain at 100 million tourists this year. Catalonia, with Barcelona as the main pole of attraction, receives around a third of the total foreign visitors.

Currently, only 30% of forests are managed, meaning that active work is being done on them, such as logging, undergrowth clearing, or new plantings. In this context, a small change in a discreet article has revolutionized the sector. As the ARA explained a few months ago, Royal Decree-Law 21/2025, which obliged owners to maintain the land in condition and empowered the administration to do so at a cost – meaning, passing the bill to the owner – mutated during the parliamentary process and went from "obliging" to simply requesting "collaboration." A direct request from the forestry sector.

They also brushed against 40°C on the Barcelona pre-littoral. Such extremely high temperatures will not be repeated this weekend, with thermometers dropping. We are coming from so high that the heat of full summer will continue, but it will be less intense and far from 40°C. All this with an increase in instability. Showers and storms will gain ground and intensity, mainly in the pre-littoral, inland and in the Pyrenees. But these showers could reach some coastal areas. Many regions - most of the country - are on orange or yellow alert for extreme temperatures. Clear skies dominated most of the territory during the event and allowed us to enjoy this unique spectacle, although cloudy intervals were a nuisance, especially in parts of the Pyrenees, pre-Pyrenees, and nearby areas, such as the northeast. Once this exceptional event has passed, what weather awaits us in the coming days? Well, between Thursday and Friday, temperatures will hit their peak, and there will be a new torrid spell with suffocating conditions. But everything seems to indicate that it will be the grand finale of the worst part of the summer, as from the weekend the thermometers will begin to drop and instability will increase. Next week, the heat will be clearly more bearable and normalized for the second half of August.

Millions of people will enjoy this Wednesday evening the historic eclipse of the Sun, which will be total in the southern regions of Catalonia, in all of the Balearic Islands, and in a large part of the Valencian Country. A unique and exceptional phenomenon marked on the agenda for some time. Everything is ready to enjoy this spectacle, but only clouds could spoil it. And it is that in some regions, there will be concern until the last moment due to the presence of clouds that may interfere with seeing the sky clearly. It should be said, however, that in most of the territory the phenomenon can be seen without problems.

The week has started with somewhat uncertain weather. Throughout yesterday, scattered showers and thunderstorms occurred. In fact, there were storms in some regions last night, especially along the coast and pre-coast of Barcelona, although they moved at high speed and left very little water. Early this morning there will be some local showers in the northeast that will eventually clear, but in the afternoon showers and thunderstorms will repeat in the northern half, while from Wednesday onwards they will clearly decrease, coinciding with the day of the total Solar eclipse. All this with heat and humidity that will remain intense, both day and night. In fact, before the weekend, thermometers will hit their peak.
