The Barcelona Prosecutor's Office has entrusted the new unit for crimes against vulnerable groups, where the prosecutors handling the Guardia Urbana crime and the Dani Alves case work, with opening an investigation following complaints against Ramon Flecha, emeritus professor at the University of Barcelona. This decision comes after the university launched an internal investigation following complaints of sexual harassment, psychological coercion, mistreatment, and exploitation linked to the professor and his research group, CREA. will send a preliminary report to the Prosecutor's OfficeAccording to a statement released by the Barcelona Provincial Prosecutor's Office, the unit investigating the case is the "Specialized Section for Violent Crimes against Children and Adolescents, as well as other vulnerable groups and complex criminal profiles." Prosecutors Félix Martín and Elisabeth Jiménez work in this section, as has been reported. The Vanguard And ARA has been able to confirm this. Martín is president of the Progressive Union of Prosecutors and has handled high-profile cases such as the Urban Guard murder case, in which the municipal police officers Rosa Peral and Albert López received a resounding sentence for the murder of a colleague. Jiménez brought the sexual assault complaint against footballer Dani Alves, who was initially convicted, although the High Court of Justice of Catalonia overturned the conviction. He ended up overturning the sentenceThe section specializing in crimes against vulnerable groups will work with a team from the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police), including members of the Sexual Assault Unit and agents from the Central Area of Analysis and Intelligence Development, who have experience investigating cult-like organizations. The University of Barcelona sent the information it had gathered to the Public Prosecutor's Office even though its internal investigation was not yet complete. However, the preliminary report already pointed to the existence of a "high-control coercive group." Specifically, sixteen people had reported the group for having sexual relations "in a context of clear hierarchical inequality" with "students, interns, doctoral candidates, or subordinates." Furthermore, the UB also He provisionally suspended emeritus professor Ramon Flecha from his dutiesAnother honorary professor and two other professors he did not identify. He announced that he would join the case as a private prosecutor if the Public Prosecutor's Office ultimately decides to file a complaint or lawsuit.

It boasts 117 square meters, exposed beams, large windows, and a meticulously designed interior featuring high-quality materials. At least, that's what dozens of news articles suggest, with headlines like "Metal Beams and Minimalism: This is Rosalía's Impressive House in the Heart of Barcelona" and "This is the House Rosalía Stays in Whenever She Comes to Spain: An Urban Refuge Created with Industrial Motifs." The articles list details of the property, explain some characteristics of the neighborhood, and some even venture to link the house's style to the singer's current artistic phase. Almost none cite their sources. But all these details fit with a project that never came to fruition.

A staunch separatist, he was the founder and leader of the NGO IGMAN Acció Solidària and secretary of foreign relations for Convergència. In fact, he played a key role in the Process, both during the Artur Mas and Carles Puigdemont eras. Through aid work and activism, he built an extensive network of international contacts that he used to promote the recognition of Catalonia and the independence movement, which became controversial following the the so-called Russian plot. He is a little nervous. He has to meet a man who says he belongs to Spain's Department of Homeland Security, who in one call has shown that he knows too many things about him and wants to turn him into a confidant. Pérez is 24 years old, still studying, and from the start he contacts the ARA and the magazine Directa. But the so-called Catalangate became a scandal on Monday, following an investigation by Citizen Lab, a group of cybersecurity experts at the University of Toronto, which was made public in conjunction with an extensive report in The New Yorker. According to this research, the phone of Catalan president Pere Aragonès, as well as those of former presidents Quim Torra and Artur Mas and the devices of over 60 Catalan politicians, activists, lawyers and journalists have been the target of a cyberespionage campaign using Israeli company NSO's Pegasus programme. Some of them have also been victims of a different spyware –also Israeli– called Candiru. Citizen Lab concludes that Catalangate is the largest case of cyberespionage they have documented.

This is one of the answers sociologist Ariadna Fitó, a professor at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona who also works at Broll cooperative, found when she offered a flat for rent in Barcelona's Eixample district to 350 letting agents over the phone. She wasn't really offering it, it was just an experiment, but when she told the real estate agents that she didn't want immigrants, 62.3% accepted the request without reservations. A further 23.7% replied that they would not rule them out, but that with the data they would give her she could do it herself. The study, commissioned by Barcelona City Council, has shown that 86% of real estate agencies accept or facilitate racism in renting.

A few hours ago, the dark web page of PYSA, the group responsible for the ransomware (digital kidnapping software) used to carry out the cyber attack, published a list of companies and organisations they threaten to make public the information obtained in their latest cyber attacks. The UAB is on the list, and they warn that "coming soon" they will publish the information they have. The list also includes a date: Wednesday 10 November, which could indicate when the publication will take place, if the threat is real.

The attack has been perpetrated with a ransomware - a malicious software that encrypts the victim's documents and demands a ransom to be able to access them again - called PYSA. According to the computer security consultant José Nicolás Castellano, and as the ARA has been able to contrast, the attackers are demanding 60 bitcoins (about three million euros) to release the hijacked files, but UAB sources say they have no record of this because, following the recommendations of the Cybersecurity Agency of Catalonia, they have not contacted the attackers and have no intention of paying.
