Also with a standoff with the Spanish government delegation, which has initiated the procedure to open disciplinary proceedings against the National Police officer who this Sunday assaulted a teacher who was demonstrating at the gates of the Ministry of Education to ask the regional government to accept the teachers' demands. In the video shared on social media, the woman, a 68-year-old retired teacher, is seen walking down the street amidst the protests. Then, an officer, whose head is covered with a helmet, runs towards her, pushes her violently from behind, and knocks her to the ground.

The announcement coincided with a new meeting between the Generalitat and the unions to try to put an end to an indefinite strike that has entered its third week and on Tuesday had a 16% follow-up. Despite the duration of the protest, the meeting only served to advance in the reduction of bureaucracy.

Especially due to the continuous discrepancies between Iniciativa del Poble Valencià –the former vice-president's party– and the nationalists of Més. Even more so, after the progressive leader's traumatic resignation worsened the relationship between the two partners. The unknown, therefore, was to determine the intensity of the dispute. Almost two months after Oltra announced that she accepted being the electoral figurehead in the city of Valencia, we now know the answer. The start of Compromís' pre-campaign for the 2027 elections, which takes place this weekend, has given it to us, and the fact that the former Equality minister has not yet been officially designated as a candidate, a circumstance that has outraged her circle, who do not hesitate to ask if her partners truly want her fighting for the mayorship.

As striking as it may seem, it will not be the first occasion; in fact, the broadcast of the bullfighting show from the capital of the State began on May 9 and will be repeated this Sunday. What will be, however, is another example of the evolution of a channel that, with the arrival of PP and Vox to the Generalitat, is increasingly opting for content in Spanish, the mix of opinion and information, crime stories, and the dissemination of shows linked to the most conservative Spanish worldview. A trend that gives no reason to believe it will change, but rather the opposite, with the appointment this week of Román Ceballos as the new president of the board of directors of a channel that for many has long resembled the old Canal 9.

The slogan among Valencian teachers seems clear after the success of the first day of the indefinite strike that began this Monday. All this in a context with high minimum services imposed by the education department, which in the case of second-year baccalaureate teachers has been 100%. This is suggested by some audio recordings advanced by Eldiario.es which record conversations between Olano and employees of the public company Consorcio Valencia 2007. In the recordings, it can be heard how the politician allegedly facilitated information about future job openings that would have served the employees to be rehired once the company they worked for ceased to exist. The recordings belong to the case opened by the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office for alleged crimes of prevarication and influence peddling, in which the mayor of Valencia and high-ranking PP official, María José Catalá, and the president of the Port Authority, Mar Chao, among other public officials, are being investigated.

But, also, several agreements and pre-agreements. This is the scenario that the education sector in Spain has experienced in the last year. In fact, since the beginning of the school year, up to twelve autonomous communities have registered some teacher strike call, with more or less adherence. The last one was this very week in Madrid, where early childhood education teachers have called an indefinite strike that has already lasted four days.
