Lawyers from the international law firm Clifford Chance have filed a response to the lawsuit filed by Corinna zu Sayn-Wittgenstein's lawyers for harassment, illegal monitoring by agents of the National Intelligence Centre (CNI) in the United Kingdom and defamation. The response states that Juan Carlos I is immune from this lawsuit because of his status as former King of Spain and former Head of State. 

The upcoming closure of proceedings in three investigations into the allegedly criminal activities of former Spanish king Juan Carlos I by the Supreme Court Prosecutor's Office will, according to judicial sources, leave open those kept by the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office on possible corruption in international economic transactions in the awarding of the high-speed train from Mecca to Medina in 2011.

The imminent defeat of the conservative majority in the Constitutional Court over Vox's appeal for protection against the Congressional bureau last Wednesday has led the rapporteur, Judge Antonio Narváez, who had proposed rejecting it, to reconsider his project and join his other five colleagues to form a majority in favour of the ruling. The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) is, now that the judicial route in the State is running out, the destination of the appeals against the sentence of the Catalan independence bid issued a year and eight months ago, on October 14, 2019. But not only the condemned pro-independence leaders and their legal defenses have their eyes set on Strasbourg. Also the magistrates of the Constitutional Court.
