Gentrification, occupation and housing crisis are just some of the themes that Ravalejar touches on, a 100% Barcelona series that is now available on HBO Max after its run at the Berlin festival. The fiction, which will be shown on 3Cat later, is inspired by the family history of its creator, Pol Rodríguez, who saw his parents lose their restaurant, Can Lluís, due to an investment fund. In Ravalejar, the protagonists are the owners of Can Mosques, a centenarian restaurant in the Raval whose continuity is threatened by the appearance of a fund that wants to evict them from the building where they are located. Esther Vera, director of ARA since 2016, has been awarded the National Journalism Award, as announced this morning by the Generalitat. The production Yo siempre a veces, set in Barcelona and co-created by Marta Bassols and Marta Loza, has won the award for best screenplay at the Canneseries festival, which concluded this Tuesday. The dramedy, which can now be seen on Movistar Plus+, follows the life of Laura, a girl from Santa Coloma who gets pregnant shortly after starting an intense relationship with Rubén, the owner of a bar in the Raval with whom she goes to raves. When they separate, Laura is faced with the reality that she must assume the upbringing of her son almost alone. The series shows the difficulties of being a mother in a precarious environment.During its run at Canneseries, Marta Bassols explained that the series "has a lot" of her own motherhood and that there are some parallels between her and the protagonist. "I am also from Santa Coloma, I also lived in Berlin, I got pregnant without thinking much about it and I stayed in Barcelona –like the character of Laura–. I also broke up and was left with a very small child, smaller than the one in the series, and I filmed from house to house," explains Bassols in statements collected by the Efe agency. Yo siempre a veces is Bassols' first production as a creator, who as an actress has appeared in other fiction such as Això no és Suècia and La Mesías and in films such as El futuro and Mamántula. The other creator of the series, Marta Loza from Asturias, has been part of the art department of films such as Dolor y gloria, by Pedro Almodóvar, or the music video Motomami by Rosalía. The Canneseries award for best screenplay was shared by Bassols and Loza with a third screenwriter, Almudena Monzú. The direction of the series also has a feminine touch: in addition to Loza, Claudia Costafreda and Ginesta Guindal have been behind the camera.

3Cat today launched Català fàcil, a project to encourage the use of the language among new speakers, consisting of a series of audiovisual contents that will be available on the public television platform, but which will also be distributed through the social networks of 3Cat Campus, the digital training space aimed at adolescents and adults.
